The Labor Day holiday started off busy in Mirassol. Around 600 people participated in the 7th edition of the Worker's Race , promoted by Cozimax in partnership with the metalworkers', furniture makers' and Mirassol Municipal Council 's unions . The athletes participated in three events, a 5km street race, 10km and a 3km walk. Children and teenagers also participated in the event and did well on the Cozimax athletics track . The event was also charitable. The milk boxes and packets of pasta collected will be donated to the Lar dos Velhinhos in Mirassol and Lar Santa Catarina na Providência de Deus , in Jaci.
Before running, the athletes participated in a moment of stretching, led by Cozimax physiotherapist , Weigle Cajuela. Afterwards, teacher Samanta was the one who encouraged the participants, with a zumba class. Cozimax athlete Rosemeire Santana Arena was thrilled to cross the finish line first after running 10km. “I thank God immensely for everything he has given me today. Running at home made all the difference, as I was with my family. I was already happy about that, and then my happiness multiplied when I became the 10 km champion. Being a champion is good, being a champion at home is much better”, says the athlete.
Children's Race
The Cozimax athletics track was also busy. Children and teenagers showed determination and strength when participating in 800m, 400m, 200m, 100m and 50m events. Family members provided encouragement for everyone to stay motivated and complete the tests. In the end, everyone won medals and the best placed won trophies.
